RISD & Brown have a strong partnership that extents to all RISD students as a result of our dual-degree program. Additionally, ISE & the Brown LGBTQIA+ Resource Center co-sponsor many events throughout the year.

COUNSELING & PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICES Struggling with coming out? Dealing with family and friends who may not understand? Issues with work or school? Feeling lonely because of a failed relationship? Trying to handle depression, stress, and/or body image issues? Our counseling staff is sensitive to LGBTQIA+ students and are available for you to meet with them. Emotional well-being is essential to personal development and integral to the creative process. RISD’s Counseling & Psychological Services Office (CAPS) provides a range of mental health services to help students improve emotional, interpersonal, and academic functioning.

HEALTH SERVICES Take control of your health! Health Services at RISD offers many services and is LGBTQIA+ friendly! The office offers free and anonymous rapid, oral HIV Testing available to all students. The office is also committed to Trans Health and will work with you to identify trans friendly doctors and other services in the area. Supplemental information and condoms/safe-sex supplies are also available free of charge.
